Rocket Singh : Salesman Of The Year

First saw the TV spots for this movie while i was on vacation in Delhi, and was immediately looking forward to watching it, but could only now manage to grab a good copy of it. So how'd it go?

Superb! What a refreshing movie! Tale of the underdog, played by the very current Ranbir Kapoor, in a story about a rookie in the world of sales with huge ambition. Enjoyed it!! Comedic at times, but very honestly portrayed.

Different to the usual filmy fare we receive from Mumbai (songs were part of the background score instead of being distractions), this film didn't fare well in the box office, but i enjoyed it. Having missed his debut in Saawariya, i think Ranbir has a good future ahead of him in the movie industry. Can't wait to watch his other releases (Aajab Prem and Wake up Sid).

Verdict : worth the popcorn cost.

Book of Eli

Watched it opening day this week, and was blown away.

Denzel Washington's latest with the Hughes Brothers is simply amazing. I loved the story, was truly entertained by Denzel's performance, and simply had great time.
With the ever dependable Gary Oldman and ever improving Mila Kunis (far throw from her 70s show character here) as the other notable cast members, this movie was a well-made post apocalyptic era survivor tale. It's also quite believable too.

Personally if this movie was out a couple of months earlier, i feel Denzel would have been a sure shot for the Oscar nominations. my two cents!!

Verdict : must watch
