Book of Eli

Watched it opening day this week, and was blown away.

Denzel Washington's latest with the Hughes Brothers is simply amazing. I loved the story, was truly entertained by Denzel's performance, and simply had great time.
With the ever dependable Gary Oldman and ever improving Mila Kunis (far throw from her 70s show character here) as the other notable cast members, this movie was a well-made post apocalyptic era survivor tale. It's also quite believable too.

Personally if this movie was out a couple of months earlier, i feel Denzel would have been a sure shot for the Oscar nominations. my two cents!!

Verdict : must watch

  1. when isn't denzel great? oldman well, so versatile he can play characters from both ends of the spectrum with utter conviction...and you're right - the 1st kunis movie in which i wasn't reminded of the 70s show...*SPOILER ALERT* i felt that the revelation about him being blind was underplayed...what's it with checking their fingers? checking for cannibals? or something else all together?

  2. the hands / fingers was due to consumption of human flesh..u remember the old folks with the guns and graves.... .. and i agree about the underplayed blindness.... though it was kind of a sixth sense moment with that one haha
